Cockatiel Learning Totaka’s Song

We’re trying to teach our 3 month old cockatiel, Mui Mui, to whistle Totaka’s Song (also known as K.K. Song from Animal Crossing). I sneaked a short video of her on the MacBook before she got distracted (she loves watching the screen and chewing on the MacBook’s keys).

I think this song actually came from Mario Paint.  It would play when you clicked the O in the title screen.  Check it out here:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLMAgcGA8Dw around 1:15.  Just thought you’d be amused by other instances of this tune. raspberry

It’s in pretty much any game that Totaka Kazumi has been a part of. The first known instance of it is actually in a Japanese Game Boy game called X. You’re right though—the first instance of it in a game released outside of Japan is in Mario Paint. smile The song is usually well hidden in the other games it is in.

I’d like to see a clip of it in X, NSF ripping aside.  Too bad it hasn’t been found in Wii Sports yet… yet another reason that game isn’t so hot :/.  Totaka is great though, perhaps the master of the simple melody.  The work in Mother 1-3 (Keicchi Suzuki/Shogo Sakai) is kinda similar and equally awesome.  You should check those out if you haven’t already, since you seem to be down with the N and their artistic choices.

I stand corrected, found the clip.  So weird…

You may have already found these videos but PhilBond does a good job at reporting the whereabouts of Totaka’s Song.

I do enjoy good video music. I was just talking about how much I appreciate the works of Takada Masafumi.

Ah yes, God Hand was quite an excellent adventure, and his music definitely added to it.  We seem to be on the same wavelength here.

This is true.

You are the person who had left a rather cryptic comment on a previous post of mine. Do I know you?
